Positive Interventions and Supports

Positive Interventions and Supports

Behavior Expectations

All Students will be:

  • Be Safe
  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible

Reinforcing Positive Behavior

The Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) committee is comprised of all stakeholders and spearheads the school-wide discipline program. They collaborate to coordinate activities, analyze discipline data, and ensure that the school is a safe learning place. The goal is to shift our practice from a punitive stance to appropriate behavior learning opportunities.

Reinforcing positive behavior acknowledges safe, respectful, and responsible behavior while focusing on students that are doing the right thing.

Positive reinforcement occurs in several ways:

  • Monday Morning Assemblies- Angel Awards
  • Caught Being Good – Earned on the playground and exchanged for Angel Bucks
  • We Can Count on You! – Classes earn points for safe and appropriate lunch time behavior

Principal for the Day- Students with the most Angel Bucks have the opportunity to be principal for the day (Fall and Spring). They make the morning announcement, take a photo at the principal’s desk, monitors instruction, and have a special lunch with administration.
